A cosmetic bag can look simple, but its cost and performance depend on structure, material, lining, closure, branding, internal details and packing. A clear brief reduces quotation gaps and shortens the sampling cycle.
1. Start with purpose and audience
Explain whether the bag is a gift with purchase, retail item, travel set, staff gift or part of a larger promotional kit. Include the target market and the type of items it needs to hold.
2. Define approximate dimensions
Provide width, height and depth. When exact dimensions are unknown, list the products that must fit inside and share photographs with a scale reference.
3. Choose the material direction
Common directions include PU, polyester, cotton canvas, velvet and recycled fabrics. Think about cleanability, structure, price point, colour accuracy and sustainability claims.
The best material is the one that supports the campaign objective—not simply the most expensive option.
4. Describe the construction
Confirm whether the bag should be soft or structured, lined or unlined, and whether it needs pockets, dividers, handles, a mirror or a specific opening style.
5. Select branding methods
Screen print, heat transfer, embroidery, woven labels, embossing, debossing, metal badges and custom zip pulls each create a different impression and cost structure.
6. Add quantity, timing and packing
Include target quantity, required delivery date, destination, individual packing requirements and whether the product will be distributed alone or inside another gift set.
